Finally got some sleep

It's been a hot minute since my last blog post because I've been excruciatingly busy this past couple weeks. First weekend of April I spent the day "smoodging" the paddocks behind dad, who was cultivating and/or seeding and fertilising. Was nice to get to spend a day trudging around in the tractor, even if it was just towing around a big old piece of railroad track.

I also got to start playing a new game with the gang. We're playing Sun Haven which is this cute Stardew Valley / Terraria hybrid farming and RPG sim. It's got all the same type of gameplay as Stardew but it takes place in this fantasy world with elves, demons, animal-human hybrids and magic. Started playing and immediately fell in love with a romanceable character, Jun - who's the town councillor. Was going to marry him but after we started dating his dialog got stale reaaaaally fast. That's when I met the local wolf-boy of the demon city of Withergate, Donovan. Ended up marrying him! It's been really fun to play, I find myself getting really hooked in and losing track of time. It's also been really cool playing with Mew, Red and Onyon again.

Also mostly finished up the game of Raft that I started with Birb in October last year. We revisited it and finished the last of the story and continued on refining the raft - since we'd put so much time and effort into designing it - and also managed to get some of the rarer and more elusive achievements.

I got a nice fat juicy four-day weekend for Easter. On Friday, Jess and Guy made an Easter lunch for the family. Beer battered barramundi fillets and twice fried chips were a treat, along with a gin and tonic and several coffees.

Dad said to me when I got to work this morning that my coffees on Friday were some of the best he'd ever had. Took that compliment and ran with it to the hills. The coffee machine I bought just over a year ago really does make a wonderful coffee - especially with the knowledge I've procured from Dan about making coffee. After lunch, I got to play plenty of Sun Haven and spent the rest of the day eating easter eggs from Mum and Dad. The rest of the weekend was a breeze. Since it was so wet, there wasn't a lot I could do in terms of working on the house or on the farm so I just got to sit back and relax doing whatever I wanted for the weekend.

I started each day getting up and making myself a nice cup of coffee and some eggs and bacon on toast with avocado. I cook the eggs in the cheap Kmart pie cooker I have, which turns them out much like a perfectly poached disc of egg. Took the opportunity to eat it at the new dining room table my brother and his partner purchased. We also played a new game, Demonologist. It's like Phasmophobia, but I found the addition of ambient fuckery to be quite refreshing.

Several hours of Demonologist with Brad, Mew and Birb and some serious Sun Haven playtime and my weekend was over.

Aside from that, I went and had dinner at Birb and Onyon's twice over the past few weeks. The first time, a few weeks ago, I went to present Birb with an opportunity to come and do some intern type work for the company with hopes that it'll get him up at a normal hour and give him some experience working in the tech environment, with some lessons in programming. The dinner went well, he seemed interested and the pasta was delicious as per usual.

The second week I went to cook them dinner, as their parents were in Melbourne for their mum's surgery. I made their family recipe bolognese with my twists and adjustments and served it with a roasted garlic and shallot cheesy pizza bread with a hot honey chilli drizzle sauce.

I'm hungry now.
