The Story

In 2020, Ryan Walpole Enterprises entered a collaborative partnership with SSEF PTY LTD in the North East of Victoria, Australia. I moved from the Gold Coast back to regional Victoria to work on this collaborative effort. The collaborative effort includes managing the ICT systems for the company as well as implementing industry firsts in Australia, Innovating in the field in ways that have not yet been touched upon.

Alongside innovating within the company, building on the FieldMate applications and services - SSEF in collaboration with Ryan Walpole Enterprises hopes to be the first in Australia to utilise automatic tree planting machinery as well as automatic tree maintaining machinery in pine plantations.

In 2022, SSEF PTY LTD completed their first season with the first-in-Australia commercial deployment of a mechanical tree planter, with Hancock Victorian Plantations. It was deemed a success.

Timeline

• 2020

  • The collaboration between SSEF and RWE is established. Ryan will be employed by SSEF and given the resources to create and develop for the company and continue to use RWE branding and RWE will retain commercial rights to use any code written.

• 2021

  • Ryan Walpole develops the FieldMate Data File database file format.

  • Ryan Walpole develops FieldMate PDFLink, FieldMate QR Creation Wizard, FieldMate Online Services and begins developing automated processes.

• 2022

  • Ryan is described by Hancock Victorian Plantations as essential in the success of SSEF's first-in-Australia commercial scale mechanical tree planting operation. They comment that no other contractor could have had the motivation, mechanical and ICT skills to successfully complete the trial.
