25 G+Ts Later...

Today I write this from my office, while waiting for files to move to new hard drives after the lightning strike damaged some sectors on the existing NAS. It's Wednesday and my first day at work for the week! Enjoyed a nice long weekend (the second this month) doing many things and also not much at all.

Saturday was spent mostly in the tractor smoodging while dad seeded and fertilised a few laps ahead of me. Knocked off and went home to find my mother visiting, houndering Guy and Jess for lunch to be served. Spent the remainder of the day playing the sims where I built a tiny house with a rooftop terrace that was like a weird, hipster, junk furniture and string lights party rooftop inspired by the new basement kit. Can't complain much about Saturday - and the same can be said about Sunday. I woke up Sunday and immediately jumped into playing some games and having a nice rest day. It's not often I get Sunday to just do my own thing, as usually I have to strategically sleep in order to not be tired for work Sunday night. However, this last weekend instead, I got drunk with Lyle!

DrunkScape has been a thing for many years - originating from my streaming antics. But it's continued past my streaming career into just normal life. It's an opportunity to hang out with Lyle and also get some mining XP in Runescape which is painful to do when sober, honestly. We also usually have some company in the form of Onyon or Birb. In this case, Birb came and spent a few hours with us as we mined.

We started at 7, just after having eaten dinner, so we decided that we'd let dinner settle and wouldn't do any shots until at least 9pm - which was exactly what we did. Had 3 or 4 gin and tonics in the couple hours after dinner and then

we really let loose. Basically as soon as the clock struck 9, it was "I think it's shot time!" - followed by similar remarks every 20 to 30 minutes for the rest of the evening. I finished off two entire bottles of gin Sunday night, leading into Monday morning. Very drunkily having conversations with Multi and Glowe, with a brief drop in from Mew around 1:30. Birb had two "massive flaggons" of rum and coke and vodka with red bull, which seemed to hit him very hard, very fast. One minute he was completely sober, the next he was talking about how he thought he was going to pass out. Was quite impressive really. Around 2:30, it was just Lyle and I left and we continued to drink and chat for the next two hours, about everything. We talked about my relationship with Dan, reminisced about old times and even got to have a good chat about Viki and that entire mess of a situation. It was a sobering experience being able to, now that we've gone through the trauma properly, discuss openly and express what we went through as a result.

Lyle and I were able to identify so many parallels and it was nice to decern that he's now out of that toxic atmosphere too. I think we're both fairly comfortable in our decisions not to patch that relationship up. Around the time of her birthday, I had typed out a draft email to send. I sent it to Lyle and asked if it was a good idea, and he very much let me decide for myself. He told me how glad he was that I didn't send it and that he had wanted to tell me not to, but let me come to my own decision. I told him Sunday night that I wanted him to slap me across the face if I ever implied I was going to try going down that road again - lol.

After two bottles of gin (talking like 37 standard drinks at this point, of which 25 were gin and tonics and the rest shots) and a solid 8 or 9 hours, we were off to bed. In the morning I was still quite drunk, but enjoyed the sleep in before a day of chores and a night of working.

Yesterday I went to Dan's and we watched a bunch more of The Legend of Korra. I wasn't feeling it at first, when we moved onto it from Avatar: The Last Airbender, but I'm happy to report that I'm enjoying it now - after adjusting. I'm in awe that so much manages to happen. The slower paced Aang storyline was more the pace I was expecting, so when the first season ended with the death of the villain I thought was going to be there until the end of the entire series, I was a tad shocked.

Anyway, that's my second update for April. Fairly happy with myself, posting at least one blog post every month. I don't think I've ever had this level of comittment to something of this format since my journal writing class in year 9, 2011.
